Infrastructure Security Specialist

Our client, a leader in the utility industry, is seeking a Critical Infrastructure Protection Specialist to join their team in Merriville, Indiana.
This person will be responsible for managing and optimizing corporate database systems for performance, integrity, and security, coordinating system upgrades, implementing structural and security measures, and providing technical support including disaster recovery to ensure seamless database operations.
This position is a 1-year W2 contract.
It is eligible for extension or conversion to FTE based on need, performance, and attendance.
It is not eligible for C2C, H1B transfer, or 1099 employment.

Responsibilities:
Oversee the performance, integrity, and security of corporate databases, ensuring their availability and reliability.
Coordinate with systems engineers and application developers for upgrading and maintaining database systems with minimal operational disruption.
Implement and manage database structures, backups, recovery plans, and security protocols.
Provide technical support, perform database tuning, and participate in disaster recovery operations to optimize system performance.
Desired
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred, with at least two years of experience in database administration, specifically with Oracle.
Demonstrable experience with SCADA systems, particularly in Display Building Network environments.
Proven ability to manage medium-scale projects independently and contribute to strategic and technical planning.
Strong interpersonal skills with a track record of developing robust professional relationships and effectively communicating complex technical concepts.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
