Overview:
Performs standard and complex EEG, EEG Holter and assists physician with second part EMG recordings.
Performs standard and surgical EP recording studies and NCVS nerve conduction velocity studies.
Responsibilities:
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES( Essential Functions)Keeps equipment in clean operational condition.
Reports and documents need for repair to the BioMedical Engineering and Manager of Electrodiagnostics in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
Performs nerve conduction studies and assists physician with second part EMGs.
Performs standard and complex EEG and EEG Holter.
Performs standard and surgical EP recording studies.
Perform daily office/clerical procedures, assuring all supplies, charges and repairs are completed.
Determines, provides and confirms proper and timely electrode placement for each patient.
Communicates clearly to physicians regarding identifiable signs and symptoms of diseases of the brain and nervous system during monitoring procedures.
Utilizes different modalities during monitoring based on understanding of neuroanatomy and neurophysiology techniques.
Qualifications:
JOB SPECIFICATIONS(Minimum Requirements)KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESAccredited by the committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation preferred.
Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide service appropriate to the infant, child, adolescent, young adult, middle adult, geriatric patient/customer served by the EDX department.
Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to assess and interpret data about the patients/customers status in order to identify each patient's/customer's age specific needs and to provide the service needed by the group serviced.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Electroneurodiagnostic Technology Required One year EP skills and Nerve Conduction Studies.
EDUCATION4 Healthcare/Medical RequiredSTANDARDS OF BEHAVIOR Meets the Standards of Behavior as outlined in Personnel Policy and Procedure #1, Employee Relations Code.
